Gary J. Matson is a Senior Lawyer at Remedios Lawyers Law Corporation. After practising with Remedios & Company Law Corporation, Gary has decided to join Remedios Lawyers, where he continues to advise individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations on a broad range of corporate and commercial, real estate, and wills and estates matters.

Called to the British Columbia Bar in 1986, Gary has nearly four decades of legal experience. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies, Master of Arts in Modern Japanese Literature, and Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. Prior to entering legal practice, Gary lived in Japan for a total of six years, including serving as a graduate research student at Hiroshima University from 1978 to 1980. His extensive academic and professional experience has given him a deep understanding of Japanese language, culture, and business practices.

Gary's practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, commercial real estate, and wills and estates. He advises businesses and individuals on business organizations, commercial transactions, corporate governance, commercial agreements, real estate transactions, estate planning, and estate administration. His decades of experience enable him to provide practical, strategic, and commercially focused legal advice to both Canadian and international clients.

Throughout his career, Gary has maintained strong ties with the Japanese business and cultural communities. He serves as Legal Counsel to the Consulate of Japan in Vancouver and has been actively involved with numerous organizations, including the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, the Canada-Japan Society of British Columbia, the Japan-Canada Chamber of Commerce, the Kiyukai Vancouver Japanese Business Association, the Japanese Canadian Citizens' Association of Greater Vancouver, the Vancouver Mokuyokai Society, and Tonarigumi Japanese Community Volunteers Association.

Gary is fluent in both spoken and written Japanese, allowing him to advise and communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients conducting business in Canada and abroad.
